About

We’d rather be unnecessary than indispensable.

Extol — to raise, and to speak well of. The work should lift the number and make the team look good doing it.

Workflows shipped and handed over

The short version

We started Extol because we kept being hired to fix the last firm’s automation.

The pattern was always the same. A workflow built fast, against a process nobody had bothered to understand, by people who left before anyone had to live with it. It worked in the demo. It broke in March. By the time we arrived, the team had quietly gone back to doing it by hand and nobody had told the board.

So the firm is built around the opposite instinct. We spend the first fortnight understanding the work rather than automating it. We write things down while we build rather than afterwards. We put everything in your accounts on your credentials, and we teach your team to run it, because a system only a supplier understands is a liability wearing a nice interface.

The name is the promise. To extol is to raise something up and to speak well of it. Both halves matter: the number should go up, and the people who own the process should come out of it looking like they know what they’re doing. Because they will.

How we work

Five things we don’t bend on.

01

The map comes first

We won’t automate a process we haven’t watched a person do. It costs you a fortnight and saves you the classic mistake: making the wrong thing faster.

02

You own it, from day one

Your accounts, your credentials, your data, your documentation. We don’t resell licences, we don’t hold keys, and nothing we build stops working if you stop paying us.

03

A human stays where being wrong is expensive

Anything touching money, contracts or a customer relationship gets an approval step. Full autonomy is a decision you make later, with evidence, not a default we ship.

04

We’ll talk you out of things

Roughly a third of what clients arrive wanting shouldn’t be built. We say so early, in writing, before it’s in a statement of work. It has cost us revenue and won us renewals.

05

The people who scope it, build it

No handover from a salesperson to a delivery team you’ve never met. It’s the main reason we keep the number of live engagements deliberately small.

The team

Small on purpose.

Next step

Come and test us on it.

Bring the thing you’ve been meaning to fix for two quarters. Thirty minutes, no deck, and a straight answer at the end of it.
